Stressed

Our weekend had highs and lows. My hub ran a 10k and rocked his time yesterday. Today we took our dog to the vet. She was sick and thankfully it wasn't serious but she has meds and just isn't herself yet. Add on to that having to travel to another state for a funeral early this week my stress level is high.

I just want to show props to my hub. He took care of everything here plus worked while I was gone. He is the best!

I had big plans for this week but with a sick dog I have to change them. Also all day I have been cooking pasta, rice and in the crock pit chicken and potatoes for our dog. This will help with feeding.

Thankfully I was able to get to the store to do the shopping for the week. So we can spend time outside with our dog and her new routine.

Sunday: Grilled a whole salmon and made mashed cauliflower.
Monday: Veggies with dip and fresh baked bread.
Tuesday: Bean dip with chips and some homemade salsa.
Wednesday: Veggie and fish kabobs, not sure on the fish.
Thursday: We are at my dads so we will order out.
Friday-till we get back from vacation so no food prep.

Time away

So it has been a bit, but it has been busy. We headed to our house in Michigan for the 4th. We invited family and friends to come and visit. They have a local parade which was tons of fun. Lots of candy, sweets, toys stickers for the kiddos.

My hubs participated in a stroller run. He got second place and it marked the first time he raced with the twins. I was put in charge of the Big Girls who were running one of their own. It went well and all the runners were ready to celebrate. And we did with some ice cream.

After our wonderful weekend away we needed to make a decision. Go home and deal with the Taste of Chicago or  stay the week in Michigan. We picked Michigan. I really didn't want to deal with walking dogs, taking kids to play or basically anything with all those crowds.

It was great! My hubs worked with the help of 4 attorneys in training.

As for running I sidelined myself cause the hubs is training for a half marathon. Like I said before I know I slow him down. But the kiddos and I got in 5 miles each day speed walking. Pretty bad ass pushing that four seater. Also very tiring.

Arrival home we sort of forgot we needed food. So after getting settled a list was made and I was off. We had to figure in a lot of things this week for the fact that we will have out of town guests and a trip to the burbs for a concert.

Sunday: Ratatouille with crumbled feta cheese
Monday: Tofu curry we put broccoli mushroom peppers and eggplant
Tuesday: Salad with tons of veggies and homemade peach dressing
Wednesday: Grilled Polish sausage with peppers and onions
Thursday: Out of town guests so out for Sushi
Friday: To the burbs for a cook out with out of town guests
Saturday: Concert in the burbs and we will picnic.
Sunday: Spatchcocked chicken, tomato cucumber salad and grilled veggies

Weekly Meals

Well the week is off to some yummy meals. Since it is summer I try to work with the season.

Sunday: We made a huge salad with lots of veggies and my hubs whipped up a great dressing with blueberries balsamic vinegar some herbs and olive oil. I think to be honest I was cutting veggies and talking about why Frozen is the best movie.

Monday: We are off to the burbs cause a storm is coming. We want to make sure my dad and his basement are safe. So we are having chicken salad sandwiches and veggies with homemade dip.

Tuesday: Hopefully all is well after the storm. (FINGERS CROSSED) we will be having homemade guacamole, homemade salsa (spicy for the hubs plain for me and the kiddos) also I may make this bean dip if time is allowed. It seems like a nice day so we may be at the park or walking around for awhile.

Thursday: Heading to Michigan (our lake house) and dinner out.

Friday-Sunday in Michigan and the hubs will be grilling. Just not sure what yet. All depends on guests

This weekend we did not do a family run. It was too hot but we had had plenty of family time at home. This included a dance party, running a marathon and lots of hide and seek.

Introduction

Since this is my first post I thought I would give a bit of a introduction of myself and my family. They will be in the post a lot.

I'm a very happy stay at home mom of four soon to be six. For the purpose of the blog the kids will be known as 1,2,3,4 and 5 and 6 in a few months. My husbands will be known as hubs. I just want to protect a bit of privacy. We also have 3 dogs we adopted. They may appear from time to time since they run and sail with us sometimes.

We live in the Windy City. I'm a native the hubs is from NYC and moved her after we got married. I gave up the corporate world when I had our first who is 3 years old. A few months later our 4 year old came into our lives through adoption. So basically I had a baby of about 3 months and a 16 month in one year. It was bliss! We welcomed our twins 8 months ago.

My hubs is a runner, swimmer and bike rides. I will ride my bike with him and we do family runs (I believe I slow him down) but I do not swim. But our kids are water babies thanks to him.

We love sailing and have our sail boat in walking distance of where we live.

Our house has a food allergy so I cook healthy gluten free meals, though the hubs and 1 I know sneak non gluten free sweets sometimes.
